We’re on a Mission!

If you’re a solopreneur, you’ll know that running your own business is full of ups and downs.

One day you’re full of drive, optimism and that infamous ‘go get ’em’ attitude…

Positivity

And the next, you’re feeling disheartened and full of despair…

There’s zillions of blogs and articles out there, that highlight the pitfalls and challenges of starting your own business…

…and they’re right, it’s a cesspit!

But when you achieve something that takes you a step closer to your goals and overall mission, the great sense of accomplishment CANNOT be underestimated.

You gotta stay focused.  You need to constantly remember why you’ve taken that leap and where you want to take the business and do everything in your power to make that happen.

Here’s a great example.

I recently worked on a commission for Parragon.

Parragon are an international publishing company.

Parragon ARE BIG.

Pretty Woman Big Huge

And they wanted me to create photo-real images of a genre I’m not familiar with (product design).  So when I got the initial enquiry, I did this…

But they are a highly respected company and they fit with my mission of taking my service to the next level, of providing my service on a global scale.

I went through various stages.

There was an initial feeling of delight, of having received an enquiry to begin with.  Which was quickly followed by self-doubt and fear.

So I took a step back, remembered that this commission could help elevate the business and decided to go for it.

Don’t let fear hold you back.  I didn’t and now I have a glowing testimonial on my website from Parragon.

You didn’t see it?

Oh, let me discreetly point it out for you.

Once you’ve worked out what your mission and goals are, keep them upfront and centre, to help keep you focused and driven.  And make sure everyone knows what they are too; potential clients will see what you stand for as a business, what you bring to the table and what sets you apart.
