The Brief:

We were approached by Heal’s, a leading UK based furniture and furnishings retailer, to create watercolour illustrations of two window displays at their Westbourne Grove store.  The window displays were designed by high profile Designers in the UK Interiors (and blogging) industry.  Both Designers were going to take part in a ‘Heal’s live event’ to dress the windows, as per their original design concepts.  It was our responsibility to ensure that all furniture and accessories chosen by the Designers were depicted accurately, as the final illustrations were going to be used by Heal’s to market and promote their planned ‘live event’.

The Solution:

After receiving the necessary floor plans of the store display areas, including furniture layouts and products lists, we commenced construction of the 3D models.  We used reference images of the various products, to create bespoke models of the furniture selections, paying close attention to detail. We decided to incorporate elements of the building’s exterior in the final watercolour illustrations to provide context, and we also included local buildings in the background to add a greater sense of realism.  The final watercolour illustrations were forwarded withinin the timeframe specified and on budget.  The team at Heal’s were delighted with the final result, as were the Designers.
